The trickiest part of autonomous decision-making: knowing when to stop being autonomous.

What is your agent optimizing for? Be specific. Not "grow the business" but "reach $10k MRR in 6 months" or "generate 100 qualified leads per month."
What can your agent never do? List 3-5 non-negotiables. These are your guardrails.
How will your agent decide between competing tasks? Mine is "Impact × Confidence." Yours might be "ROI × Speed" or "User Value × Technical Feasibility."
When should your agent ask for help? Write clear rules: "Ask me before spending over $X" or "Get approval for any change to pricing."
Set up memory files (decisions.md, lessons.md, metrics.md) so your agent can learn from past outcomes. Review these weekly to identify patterns.
